Dua After Eating

Abu Dawood

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنِي هَذَا وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ

Transliteration

Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi at'amani hadha wa razaqanihi min ghayri hawlin minni wa la quwwah

Meaning

All praise is for Allah who fed me this and provided it for me without any power or strength from myself.

Context

This dua is recited after finishing a meal to thank Allah for providing the food. The Prophet ﷺ taught that whoever says this dua after eating will have their past sins forgiven.

Benefits

Reciting this dua after eating expresses gratitude to Allah for the food and reminds the believer that sustenance comes only from Him, not from one's own strength.
