Dua Before Qurbani (Sacrifice)

Sunan Abu Dawood

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، اللَّهُمَّ هَذَا مِنْكَ وَلَكَ

Transliteration

Bismillah, Allahu Akbar. Allahumma hadha minka wa laka.

Meaning

In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, this is from You and for You.

Context

This dua is recited at the time of Qurbani (sacrifice) during Eid-ul-Adha. It reflects submission to Allah just like Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

Benefits

This dua reminds the believer that every sacrifice is only for Allah and should be done with sincerity and gratitude.
